The 2nd Annual Veterinary Virtual Care Summit
The Veterinary Virtual Care Association is dedicated to guiding you through the emerging world of virtual care for animals.
If there is anything the last year has taught us, it’s that the way we do things is constantly changing, and for the veterinary world, this means riding the wave of the veterinary telehealth evolution instead of letting it wash you out. Together, we can transform ourselves, our systems, our teams, and our practices to best serve animals in an increasingly digital world.
The 2nd Annual Veterinary Virtual Care Summit set you on a new path, to emerge and transform toward the future.
As the only existing Veterinary Virtual Care summit in the world, this event will disrupt everything you thought you knew about virtual care, and allow you to grow, change, and adapt to the “new normal” we will continue to experience.
Our Keynote Speaker
Dr. Michelle Rozen, Ph.D. is a game-changing, revenue-building, performance-boosting change expert and highly respected authority on the psychology of change. She will help guide all of us to a new understanding of why we resist change and provide actionable steps we can implement immediately to effectively use change as a tool for growth, success and connection.
Ethical Challenges in The Digital Future
Speaker: Kerri Marshall, DVM
Telehealth, now more broadly called Virtual Care, is changing the landscape of human healthcare and also shaping the future of veterinary care. Virtual Care is challenging veterinarians to expand their business model and embrace the demands of millennial pet parents as well as existing clients. What does this mean for the future of veterinary medicine? How can veterinarians frame the ethical discussions around the adoption of virtual care? Dr. Marshall will lead a dynamic discussion about the impact and ethics of virtual care in veterinary medicine.
Cyber Security 101: What it Should Mean to You
Speaker: Dave Summitt
Today we all need to better understand what Cyber Security is, how it impacts us personally, professionally, and as business leaders. In this program information will be provided as to how risk to cyber events can be reduced with a discussion on how much it may cost. Dave Summit has a 40-year career in information technology, in which 18 years he concentrated on cyber security. This program will raise awareness on cyber security, address confusion, and provide you with actionable direction.
Ethical Challenges in The Digital Future
Speaker: Eleanor Green, DVM
In today’s world of exponential change, the only constant is change and the rate of change is increasing. Veterinary medicine is no exception. As veterinarians, how do we keep pace? How do we adjust to the onslaught of change, including virtual care? With our long-held, legacy traditions, how do we ensure that our practices remain viable, that our traditional veterinary school curriculum evolves constantly, that we recruit and admit the best students most likely to succeed and be fulfilled in this profession, that we hire associates who will be fulfilled as they contribute to the long-term viability of the practice, and that our leaders in the profession are leading in the right direction? There is one word that is central to answering these questions - adaptability. The evidence is growing that the adaptability quotient (AQ) trumps both IQ and EQ in determining success now and into the future. Fortunately, each one of us can become more adaptable. The bottom line? Adapt or die, that famous phrase taken from the movie, Moneyball.
The VVCA is brought to you by veterinarians, animal health industry, and educational thought leaders, and we have arrived just in time for a new generation of veterinarians who recognize the value of virtual care.
We are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring you this annual event once again following a phenomenal year of growth for the VVCA.
In such a short time, we have launched a supportive community that is regularly growing, produced several video series that align with our mission to produce useful resources, and released our Telemedicine Map that conveniently displays current VCPR laws across the country.
Praise for last year's Summit...
